New Photographs Licensed

 Newport
My publisher, Fairfield Art Publishing, requested that I license new photographs to them for publication as poster art for the wall art, home furnishings and decor industries.  I am glad that my photographs are available for many people to enjoy in their homes or offices or any public place they frequent.

Art Rush

Tuesday, April 3, was an Art Rush!  At 1PM Brooklyn College's Gallery 3160 hosted my Wall Street photographs with a wonderful opening.  The black and white and sepia photographs of Wall Street will be at the Gallery through April.  Curator Madeline Appell, herself a fabric artist and quilter whose art is currently on display at the Brooklyn Central Library,  hung the show beautifully.  I majored in photography as part of my BA at Brooklyn College so this was a real homecoming for me!

In the evening, I attended my friend Ben Jones' marvelous exhibit at Jadite Galleries in midtown Manhattan.  Ben is a superb artist and an amazing person.  I am honored to be represented by the same gallery!  Ben's exhibit is magnificent!  For more of Ben's art visit: www.benjones.net

Great NY Day!

Hudson River

 Blossoms on the NYC streets
Friday, March 23 was a glorious day in NY.  The weather was beautiful.  New Yorkers and visitors were out, enjoying the springlike vibes.  I had the great pleasure of attending International Art Expo New York 2012 and the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at the West side piers.  The art, design, technology, are dynamic, exciting, soulful expressions of human creativity.  The locations of the exhibitions were an additional treat: on the Hudson River.  At the end of an art and design feast, as I walked in Manhattan, blossoms were blooming on the streets of NYC.

The Central Library, located in Brooklyn, NY, is a marvel of beautiful architecture and wonderful gilt ornamentation.  The distinctive facade sparks the imagination and provides a fantastic portal into a world of discovery through the enormous and outstanding collection of books housed in the Library.

Brooklyn On My Mind

I love going back to my "home town" where I was born and raised: Brooklyn, NY.  The wealth of historic and magnificent architecture draws me to photograph in Brooklyn again and again.  It may be surprising that in a treasure trove of architectural wonders, broad, leafy streets define many of Brooklyn's neighborhoods. This photograph was taken on Flatbush Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn directly before Grand Army Plaza Circle.  To the left is Prospect Park.  To the right, Grand Army Plaza (Central) Library, the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens: all providing me with marvelous photographic subjects! To see more of my architectural photography explorations in Park Slope visit the BIT video "Caught in the Act" http://www.ellenfisch.com/videos_CaughtInTheAct.html

I am speaking to two groups of individuals this week who love photography and art.  It is wonderful to share  thoughts on my two passions with others.  Most important concept: SEE.  Look around and there will be treasures, like this column cap in the Times Square area of New York City.
